To me, there's no better way to prepare meat than putting it out on a sizzling charcoal grill, letting the edges and tips get singed and burnt, and allowing the meat to absorb the smoke and fire... the flavor knocks me out. But I hardly ever get that incredible taste experience unless I grill it in my own backyard. But on Monday, I had the pleasure of trying a little place in the Vista outside downtown Columbia called California Chicken Grill. I don't know why they call it "California" but it will knock your socks off. They serve grilled chicken and lots of it. Salads, sandwiches, plates... and it is super. I had a fresh salad with lots of grilled chicken on top. It was really the best chicken salad ever. I noticed a sign saying that they deliver. I would love to have them show up after a hard day at the office, with my backyard picnic already prepared! It's on Gervais Street if you go, and the parking lot is around back.
